The Push Up

This simple to perform, do anywhere exercise can help you build incredible strength!  And with so many different variations, its hard to ever become bored with them.  The push up is performed by laying horizontal, face down and then raising and lowering the body by using your arms.  The primary muscles developed by doing push ups are the pectoral muscles and the triceps.  There are many secondary muscles that are recruited during the performance of this exercise such as the deltoids and the core muscles of the midsection.  If you want to gain strength, add these to your routine twice a week.

Drinking Alcohol does NOT Protect Against Stroke

Researchers have concluded after 20 years of studying over 22,ooo men that light drinkers, those who consumed only one alcoholic drink weekly, were slightly less likely to suffer strokes, but moderate drinking had no impact.  However, heavy drinking was found to raise the stroke risk.  More on this subject can be found in the January 2010 journal Stroke.
